CHILDREN ARE TAKEN FROM THE CUSTODY OF PARENTS
A sad scene was enacted in the Juvenile branch of circuit court here Wednesday in a hearing involving the family of Hugh Moon of Shelbina. The information on which the hearing was based alleged that Emma Moon, 10 years old, Franklin 6 and Bertha 4, children of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Moon, were neglected and delinquent children.
The case was heard before Judge Drain, who ordered that Emma and Bertha Moon be committed to the State Board of Charities and Corrections at Jefferson City, and that Franklin Moon be committed to the care of the Probation Officer of Shelbina. Miss Green, a representative of the State Board of Charities and Corrections, was present at the hearing.
Mr. Moon is not strong physically and the family is in very poor circumstances, it was said.
