Adelina Montano Age 87 passed away peacefully, Monday, June 14, 2010 following a brief illness. Adelina was born August 12, 1922 to Adolfo and Elaisa Montoya. She graduated from Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, NM and continued her education at secretarial school and worked for the Corporation Commission and did court reporting. In 1948 she married Bennie, and later stayed home to raise their 13 children. She was a member of St. Anne's Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and sharing her life stories with everyone. She loved bowling and bingo and treasured her friendships. She is preceded in death by her daughters: Marcia Rivera and "little" Mary; her parents, Adolfo and Elaisa Montoya; brothers, Lucas and Arturo Montoya; sisters, Rose Olivas (Fred), Margaret Caperton; and brother-in-law, Stan Roybal. She is survived by her loving husband, Bennie Montano of 62 years; her children: Benji (Angela), Margaret Montoya (Kenny), Anita Maes (George), Joe (Shiela), Juanita (Robert), Reynaldo (Mona), Angelina Cedillo (Juan), Arturo (Darlene), Michael (Leslie), Gilbert and Louie (Debbie); son-in-law, Franciso Rivera; sisters, Lucy Roybal and Virginia Archuleta (Ruben); brother, Rubel Montoya (Rosina); brother-in-law, Bill Caperton. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Adelina's final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, patience and teachings. A Visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010, 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary, 7 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 18, 2010, 12 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
