Grandmother Marina Alcon passed as Grandfather Porfirio Alcon, her and family which consisted of Beatrice Alcon, Casimiro Alcon, Juan Demostenes Alcon, were traveling by wagon train from Texoma Oklahoma.Porfirio worked on the railroad as a brakeman as they traveled through towards New Mexico. My father Juan Demostenes Alcon was only four years old at that time of her passing,as he was born in Stevens county in Corum,Oklahoma on May 20 1910. Grand Father Porfirio always claimed he left a granite stone memorial for her grave but, no one has ever returned to see if they could locate it. Marina's son Juan Demostenes passed away on January 10, 2004 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colorado and was buried on January 14, 2004 at greenmount cemetery in Durango, Colorado. Marina"s husband Porfirio was buried in Monero, New Mexico in 1946 as so was her daughter Beatriz in the 1930's. Casimiro was buried in 1975 at the Saint Rose de Lima Cemetery in Blanco, New Mexico. According to Cousin Manuel Alcon of Mora, New Mexico who has a nephew buried in this cemetery, my Grandmother Marina is of relation to his mother through the Montoya side,Grandmother Marina Alcons maiden name.Marinas parents were Pedro and Rosarita Montoya.
