LARRY MONTGOMERY

The graveside service will be held Oct. 29 for Larry Montgomery of Eugene, who died Oct. 24 of complications from multiple sclerosis. He was 51.

Montgomery was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Eugene, to Fay and Phyllis Worman Montgomery.

He was a lifetime resident of Eugene. He received degrees in English and history from the University of Oregon. He served in the Air Force as an operating room technician. He worked as a custodian for Lane Community college until his retirement. Montgomery enjoyed playing chess, hiking and fishing. He especially enjoyed a lively conversation. He served as a staff member with the Oregon Country Fair for 20 years.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Garrett of Florence; a stepson, Tamen of Eugene; and a sister, LaVonne Stewart of Springfield.

Monday's service will be held at 3 p.m. at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Burns; Riverside Chapel, Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arraignments.
