Charles Foster Montgomery, age 21 of Starkville Mississippi, was killed in action at the Battle of Franklin Tennessee on November 30, 1864.

Charles was in the cavalry forces under Maj. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, as a scout. He was not married and is buried with his comrades at the battlefield in Franklin Tennessee.

Charles Foster Montgomery was the son of Capt. William Thompson Montgomery, C.S.A. and the late Louisa S. H. [Glenn] Montgomery of Starkville, Mississippi.
