Marvin D. Montaño, 46, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Efren Romero Montaño.
He is survived by one son, Shawn Montaño; one daughter, Shannon Montaño; two brothers, Robert G. Montaño of Albuquerque and Alex F. Montaño and wife Antoinette of Pojoaque, N.M.; one sister, Doris Varela and husband Gilbert of Las Vegas, N.M.; two aunts: Elena Lucero of Albuquerque and Emma Romero of Pueblo, Colo.; one uncle, Arturo Lucero of Albuquerque; two nieces: Brenda Varela of Orlando, FL and Melissa Roybal and husband Fernando of Pojoaque, N.M.; two nephews: Gilbert Varela Jr. and wife Claire of Santa Fe, N.M., and Matthew Montaño and wife Erica of Hernandez, N.M.; several cousins, and special friends Ted Esquibel, Rick Garduno, Norman Duran, Antonio Urioste, and all his friends at the Wind River Ranch.
Marvin graduated from West Las Vegas High School and served one enlistment in the United States Army. He did all kinds of jobs, mostly carpentry, was an auto mechanic, and a building construction worker. Recently he was a ranch hand for the Wind River Ranch near Loma Parda, N.M.
Cremation has taken place and the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass.
