Mrs. Tressie Anna (Monn) Bryan, 88, of 22 Mount Vernon Terrace, Waynesboro, died at 1:16 P.M., Sunday, May 28, 2006, in her home. She had been in failing health for the last month prior to her death.
Born December 2, 1917 in Fairview, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Edith (Wade) Monn. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Bryan attended Waynesboro area schools.
She and her husband of over 71 years, Woodrow W. Bryan, were married on April 27, 1935 in Hagerstown, MD. They lived most of their life in the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Bryan operated the Pennsylvania Lunch Room and also worked in several restaurants in the Waynesboro area. She also worked with the late Thelma (Monn) Beeler in a restaurant in Tionesta, PA. She later worked at South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain, PA.
She was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, where she was a former member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class.
Mrs. Bryan enjoyed spending time with her family and flower gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Faye I Wishard and Judy L. Sheffler, both of Waynesboro; three sons, James W. Bryan, Barry L. Bryan, and Rick Bryan, all of Waynesboro; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Sheeley of Smithsburg, MD; five sisters, Thelma I. Beeler, Olive G. Bonebrake, Nellie M. Martin, Addie R. Rock, and Ethel M. Mentzer, all of Waynesboro; and three brothers, Clyde R. Monn, Earl C. Monn, and Paul G. Monn, all of Waynesboro.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 1, 2006, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. John W. Shubert and Rev. Donald L. Bender officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
