Bonna Jean Blaney, 77, of Lusk, Wyo. died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at the Fort Collins Health Center in Fort Collins, Colo.

She was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Denver, Mo. to John and Anna Mae Monger. As a young girl, she moved to Guernsey where she lived with her family on a farm. She attended school in Guernsey where she graduated from High School in 1945.

On March 29, 1949, she was married in Rapid City, SD to Robert Lloyd Blaney of Manville. Throughout their married life, the Continental Pipeline Company employed Mr. Blaney, and the couple lived in various locations throughout Wyoming including Horse Creek, Cheyenne, Glenrock, and Lance Creek.

Upon Mr. Blaney's retirement in April 1985, the couple moved to Lusk. Bonna was a long-time member of the Lance Creek Community Church, and active with the Niobrara Senior Center.

In her earlier years, she managed restaurants in Guernsey and Lance Creek, retiring in November of 1986. Upon her retirement, the couple wintered in Apache Junction, Ariz., where they were active in many functions sponsored by the Superstition Lookout Retirement Park.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and handwork, hunting, fishing and traveling. She particularly enjoyed many fall hunting trips to the Upper Green River Lakes near Pinedale with her family. She and Mr. Blaney made two road trips to Alaska where they enjoyed salmon and halibut fishing. In 1993, they joined friends for an R.V. trip to Nova Scotia and down the eastern seaboard to Washington DC. In 1997, she joined friends for a cruise from the Tahiti to Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Blaney; five sisters, Oletta Baird, Dorothy Wolford, Barbara Monger, Wanda Monger, and Ella Monger, and two brothers, John Monger and Charles Monger. Survivors include her son, Douglas Blaney, of Carr, Colo., her daughter-in-law, Darlene Blaney of Carr, Colo. , and two grandchildren, Alyssa Blaney and Daniel Blaney, both of Carr, Colo.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Chapel in Lusk, Wyo. with Rev. Tom Strock officiating. Remains will be placed in the Wheatland Cemetery at a later date.
