Mary Elizabeth "Bitz" Monaghan Alexander, age 90, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Saturday morning, October 23, 2004, in the Hummingbird Retirement Home.

She was born December 11, 1913, in Lamberton, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Edward and Anna (Blanc) Monaghan.

She was a retired office clerk from Island Creek Coal Company.

Mrs. Alexander was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Richlands, Virginia, and attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lebanon.

She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society in Logan, West Virginia, a member of the Holden Women's Garden Club, and was a member and past president of the Holden Teen Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, David R. Alexander Sr., a son, David R. Alexander Jr., a sister, Irene Smith, five brothers, Edward, John, James, Francis and Patrick, and her parents.
