Lorraine K. Allmaras, age 79, of New Rockford, ND, died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford.

Lorraine Katherine Molitor was born on April 16, 1932, the daughter of Tony and Blanche (Tanner) Molitor at her family home near Brinsmade, ND. Lorraine graduated from high school at Leeds, ND, and attended Minot State College where she received a teaching degree. She began her teaching career at Brantford, ND, and taught for one year at St. James Academy in New Rockford.

In May of 1953, Lorraine was united in marriage to John "Huntz" Allmaras at St. John's Catholic Church in New Rockford. John and Lorraine lived in New Rockford until the house was built on the farm in the late 1950's.

Lorraine served the community in many areas. She served as an Eddy County Commissioner for 20 years, and in that capacity served on the Lake Region Law Enforcement and 911 Reorganization Boards. Lorraine served as the Secretary of ND Assn. of Counties, was a Representative to the ND State Legislature for 1 term, was a member of the Community Ambulance Service, St. John's Catholic Church, the St. Cecelia's Circle and had held the office of president of the Altar Society.

Lorraine is survived by her husband John "Huntz", New Rockford; three sons, Tim (Judy), New Rockford, Tony (Jean), Boise, ID, Todd (Kerri), New Rockford; and seven grandchildren, John, Kristin, Brett, Tanya, Tarrah, Tori, and MacKenzie.

She is preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
