Doris Arline Molek, a 42 year resident of Los Gatos, CA, passed away on December 6, 2004 at her home with her family around her at the age of 89 years. She was born in Berwyn, IL in 1915 and was the last child of a family of seven of Lottie Biggs Duckett and Reginald Duckett.
Doris was a fine local artist and member of the Los Gatos Art Association, having exhibited a great deal of her oil paintings in art shows. A supporter of all the arts, Doris was a member of the board of the Los Gatos Community Concert series. Later in life, she turned to sculpturing in clay, creating many fantastic busts of all of her cherished family members.
For 22 years, she worked at the Naval Plant Representative Office at Lockheed and retired as the head of the Administrative Division. No matter what she did, she put forth her greatest effort with full energy and commitment. Doris was active in golf and sailing and as the oldest member, worked out regularly at the Los Gatos Athletic Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John, in 2001. She is survived by two daughters, two grandchildren and great-grandson, as well as many special nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at DARLING & FISCHER CHAPEL OF THE HILLS, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, CA.
