Viola, Ill, April 10--Mrs. Charles Beard died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday morning in the home of Dewey Ziegler. Death was caused by a stroke of apoplexy, suffered Sunday evening. She had been engaged in household work in the Ziegler home while Mrs. Ziegler was in a hospital. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Viola, Ill., April 12--Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Beard were held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the Viola Methodist church. Rev. Edward Hardy officiating. Burial was in the Viola Cemetery. She was born in Morgan county Ohio, June 28, 1855. She was married to Charles E. Beard in Ohio on April 3, 1875. They came to Viola in 1879. The widower and the following sons and daughters survive: Susie McDowell of Alpha, Elizabeth McLaughlin of Longmont, Colo., Pearl Hamilton of Tulsa, Okla. Frederic J. and Keyon of Kewanee and Vernard at home. Three sisters and a brother as follows, also survive; Mrs. Zella Hinkell, Mrs. Etta Dally and Albert Mohler of Perry county Ohio and Mrs. Maggie Stoveburner of Shelby county Illinois.
