Ryan C. Moetsch, age 18, of New Hampton, son of Mark and Judy Moetsch, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was 10.30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004, at Holy Family Parish - St. Mary's Center with Monsignor Carl Schmitt and Rev John Harpel celebrating the mass. Ryan's parents and two brothers placed the pall on the casket.Music was provided by Ann Bennett as organist and Travis Bouska as vocalist. The offertory gifts were presented by his brothers.

Interment was at St Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton, with Chris Van Oort, Ben Rosonke, Mitch Kellogg, Brad Wilhk, Paul Reicks and Brian Reding as pallbearers Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Anderson, Jeremy Schaufenbuel, Eric Heiselman, Liz Denner, Brianne Tilleraas, Jeremy Oxendine, Andrea Mack, Emily Boos, Zach Grove, Matt Lechtenberg and Zach Tolias. Friends called 1 00 p.m -8:00 p.m Sunday, September 12, 2004, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton where there was a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service and a 7 30 p m. Ryan was born in New Hampton, Iowa, on November 1, 1985, the son of Mark and Judy (Denner) Moetsch. He was baptized into the Catholic Faith and Confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Hampton. Ryan was in the New Hampton High School graduation class of 2004, where he was active in the football and wrestling programs Ryan loved snowmobiling, especially his trips to Michigan with his friends. He enjoyed working on his snowmobiles and also the trips to the Hayday's SnowFest. Sunday dinner with his family at his Grandma Denner's home was an important part of his week. He loved his dog, "Feisty" who was a steady companion. Ryan will be remembered by young children for his sense of humor and willingness to give them time He enjoyed hunting, his guns, listening to music, chatting on the computer with his many friends and collecting farm sets and farm toys.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Judy Moetsch, New Hampton, his two brothers, Jason Richards and Kyle Moetsch, New Hampton; grandmothers, Betty Denner, New Hampton; Eva Moetsch, Fredericksburg; Mary Richards, Charles City, one great-grandmother, Florence Roffman,Waukon; aunts and uncles, Kim and Merlyn Hansen, Mesa, AZ, Pete and Lisa Reicks, Lawler; Joe Denner, New Hampton; Tim and Julie Denner, New Hampton; Mike and Kathy Moetsch, Cedar Falls; Laurie and Randy Thein, Fredericksburg, Dave Richards, Prior Lake, MN; Julie and Leland Hansen, Independence, IA, Terry and Kim Roffman, Ripon, WI and many cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Paul Richards, Donald Moetsch and James Denner; two uncles, Curt Moetsch and Bruce Denner.
