Mary Ann Bauer, 63 of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. She was born November 22, 1948 in Valparaiso to Harold and Mary (Bailey) Mockler. Mary Ann graduated from South Central High School and Indianapolis Business College. She served as Registrar for the Valparaiso Community Schools for over 22 years, retiring in December of 2008. On July 8, 1972, she married John A. Bauer, who survives along with their children: Dawn (Sean) Hunter of Valparaiso and Jay (Amy) Bauer of Valparaiso; her mother, Mary Mockler of Wanatah; brothers: Jack Mockler of Hanna, Bob Mockler of FL, Dick (Tina) Mockler of LaPorte, Ron (Barb) Mockler of Wanatah and Ken (Kelli) Mockler of Wanatah; sister, Tricia (Dale) Bucher of Wanatah; and grandchildren: Alton and Lorelai Hunter and Lance, Jamy and Courtney Bauer. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Center, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso with Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. directly at the church.
