BRAMWELL – Shelby Jean Bailey, 58, of River Road, Bramwell, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton.
Born July 2, 1947 in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses Grant Mitchem and Hazel Taylor Mitchem Asbury of Ridge Care in Princeton.
Mrs. Bailey was a former site manager for the Nutrition Center in Matoaka. She enjoyed working with senior citizens and quilting. She attended the Riverside Baptist Church in Bramwell.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Jack Bailey; two sons, Kenneth Bailey Sr. and his wife Grace of Princeton and Keith Bailey Sr. and his wife Pam of Crumpler; four brothers, Aaron Mitchem and his wife Carol of Lashmeet, Franklin Mitchem of Montcalm, Bernard Mitchem of Hickory, N.C. and Lonnie Mitchem and his wife Sharon of Montcalm; two sisters, Patty Church of Bluewell and Connie Borich and her husband Don of Bluewell; four grandchildren, Kenneth Bailey Jr., Grant Bailey, Keith Bailey Jr. and Jeremiah Bailey; and one great-granddaughter, Zoey Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Evangelist Bobby Stanley officiating. Interment will follow at the Bailey Cemetery at Beartown. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
