Mrs. Phoebe Day, 90, of 1101 E. Reynolds died at 1:45 p.m. Friday at St. John's Hospital.
Born in Springfield, Mrs. Day was the daughter of William and Susan Vaughn Mitchell. Preceding her in death were her husband, James; five brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Day was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are two nieces, Angelus Barron of Springfield and Verneal Givens of Chicago; one nephew, Rodger P. Harris of Chicago; and several cousins.
