Robert Tony Mitchell, 87 of Walnut Street, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1981 at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington.

He was a native of Fleming County, retired farmer, member of the T-Run Christian Church, Fleming County, and a veteran of WWI.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Odie Jolly Mitchell, Nicholas County; three sons, Tilton Mitchell, Falmouth, Walter and Ollie Mitchell, Nicholas County; nine daughters, Mrs. Minnie Fredrick, Mrs. Elsie Crawford, Mrs. Ossie [Ocie] Tucker, Mrs. Sara Fisher, Mrs. Nora Bromagen, Mrs. Wanda Watkins, Mrs. Anna Sapp, all of Nicholas County, Mrs. Helen McVey, Bourbon County, and Mrs. Janice Lemons, Harrison County; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Watkins, Nicholas County, and Mrs. Edna Jackson, Robertson County; three half brothers, William Mitchell, Fleming County, Floyd Mitchell, Bourbon County, and Jay Mitchell, Nicholas County; one half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jolly, Nicholas County; 57 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, Nov. 7 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gaylord Gillespie officiating. Burial in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Paul Price, William and Leslie Mitchell, Clevie Gray, Clevie Livingood and Herbert Jolly.
