Mrs. Lura Rae Miller was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Longview, Wash., to Raymond and Mary (Mitchell) Connell. Lura died in Tillamook Nov. 26, 2007, at the age of 80.
She grew up in Washington and attended school in Kelso. Oct. 18, 1944, Lura was united in marriage to Floyd Miller in Vancouver, Wash. For a short time, Lura and Floyd lived in Longview, Wash., and Lura worked for Safeway. They moved to Tillamook in 1952. Lura worked at Piggy Wiggley and then owned and operated East Side Grocery for 11 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, reading, singing and playing the piano.
Brothers, Gerald Connell, Gordon Connel and David Connell preceded Lura in death.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Floyd Miller of Tillamook; three children, Joan Miller and companion Wes Langley of Keizer, Cheryl Brown and husband Tim of Tillamook, and Robert Miller and wife Jo of Tillamook; two grandchildren, Mike Hurliman and wife Nikki of Battle Ground, Wash., and Nicole Miller of Salem; four step-grandchildren, Damian Sander and wife Natalie of Hillsboro, Danielle Sander of Portland, Dyana Kohler and husband Joshua of Keizer, and Dawn Sander of Salem.
She dearly enjoyed her great-grandson, Garrett Hurliman of Battle Ground, Wash., and her step-great grandson, Jarrrod Kohler of Keizer.
At Lura's request, no services will be held. Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are in care of Waud's Funeral Home.
