Ovie Lee Mitchell,age 70, of Kendallville, died on Friday, November 5, 2010 at his residence with his family surrounding his bedside.

Mr. Mitchell was born in War, West Virginia on May 26, 1940 to the late Byrd and Mary Mitchell.

He married Dorothy May Manns on August 7, 1959 in Albion, Indiana.

Ovie was a retired foundry worker and employed in the past with Newnan Foundry in Kendallville.

He was called to preach the Word of God and loved traveling around the area preaching God’s truth.

Ovie enjoyed his church family at the Full Gospel Revival Center in Rome City where he was a member.

He enjoyed camping and spending time family, his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: His wife of 51 years, Dorothy Mitchell of Kendallville; Son, Jerry Mitchell of Garrett; Daughters, Vicki and Terry Pence of Albion; Rhonda and Brad Beazell of Avilla. 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Brother, Stewart and Louvena Mitchell of Kendallville.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Michelle, his brothers; Howard, Buster, Dan, Roy, and Sonny Mitchell and his sisters; Madeline Handshoe, Isabelle Woody, Helen Hicks, Omie Blakely,

Burial will be at Sweet Cemetery near Albion.
