Maude M. Gibson, 89, of Athens, formerly of Springfield, died at 4 a.m. Friday, June 29, 1984, at her residence.
She was born in Ridge Hill, Mo., the daughter of William and Frances Ward Mitchell.
She married Claude Gibson, and he preceded her in death in 1946.
Mrs. Gibson was a resident of Springfield most of her life. For the last two years, she lived in Athens.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hart of Georgetown; Mrs. Lenora Chronister of Athens; Mrs. Louise Bernardnelli of Clinton, Ind.; and Mrs. Lela Radford of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Herbert Gibson of Decatur and Claude Gibson of Athens; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were at Staab Funeral Home.
Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Parks Cemetery.
