After enduring several operations, radiation and chemo-therapy,Beverly lost her 13 year battle with cancer, and passed away at her home. She lived her life with humor and spirit, and will be forever remembered. She was a nurse at White Oak Elementary, and the Rehabilition Hospital of Indianapolis, before her overwhelming desire to help others lead her to her most passionate calling at the Hendricks County Head Start Program, where she could truly make a difference.

Beverly leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Ray Benson, Jr; a son, Adam and her daughter, Christina.
