Mary (Mitchell) Brown was born December 7, 1844, Findon Northamptonshire England, being at the time of her death 61 years, 11 months and 15 days old. She was converted at Little York church in 1861 during a series of meetings held by Rev. W. Newman, united with Cumberland Presbyterian church at Smyrna and was transferred to Providence O. P. church in March 1888. She was married to Daniel Brown March 1866 who survives her. Sister Brown was an every day christian always ready to do what she could for her blessed Lord and master, ever looking on the bright side of life. Patient in trials and troubles common to life and in her last days of suffering was not heard to murmur or complain, but bore it all with christian fortitude, looking for the time when she would be freed from this life of suffering, to join those who had gone before in the beautiful beyond, where tears are not shed and where sorrow is not known. She leaves tomourn her death her husband, Daniel Brown, six brothers Joseph, James, Jabez, Charles, John and Samuel, and two sisters Hannah McDevitt and Sarah Scott, beside a host of friends. Sister Brown has only been transferred from the church millitant, to the church triumphant where she will remain to greet her brothers, sisters and friends, as they are ushered in one by one, to the haven of rest.
