ELVA "Sally" MISKELLY BALCH, 86, of Bartlett, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, January 23 at Memphis Funeral Home, Germantown Parkway Chapel, with interment to follow in Memphis Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today. Sally was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was very active with her Sunday School class. She studied business at Blue Mountain College, before beginning a 48 year career with Goldsmith's Department Store. Sally was passionate about travel and experiencing new cultures, and she enjoyed assisting foreign exchange students as they adjusted to the culture of the United States. She was an "Ambassador" in the truest sense of the word. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Wardie Miskelly. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Neil; her brother, Howard Miskelly and his wife, Ann of Okolona, MS; two nieces, Pam Carson (Chuck) and Marty Ishee (Jerry); four nephews, Chip Miskelly, Oscar Miskelly (Joyce), Tommy Miskelly (Lisa), and Dan Martindale; and her dear friends, Guenter and Marcie Lensges.
