Gladys Minter Pulliam Brown, 82, of 3414 Axton Road, Axton, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C.
She was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Axton to James Woodi Minter and Georgie McMillan Minter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Aaron Pulliam; and a sister, Ora Wilson.
She retired from Dan River Mills after 34 years of service and was a member of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Willard "Blackie" Swanson Brown of the home; a daughter, Sandra W. Davis of Eden; two sons, Robert A. Pulliam of Axton and Dickie Pulliam of Moneta; a sister, Mary Lou Bell of Martinsville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Gary Robertson and the Rev. Lem Hardison officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home.
