He was born in Clay County, a son of the late George w. and Mary Moore Minner. He was a member of the Edgelawn United Methodist Church. He retired from the Columbia Gas Co., of West Virginia after 46 years service, and was the plant supervisor in Beckley, Glenville, and Lexington, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Ella F. Caldwell Minner; two sons, George, of Nitro, and Buddie, of Rockport; four daughters, Mrs. R.E. (Kathleen) Greer and Mrs. C.H. (Edith) McCormick, of Elkview, Mrs. J.R. (Roberta) Ratliff, of Parkersburg, and Mrs. R.G. (Betty) McCormick, of Milton; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Services will be at 1p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Geissler officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park at Big Chimney.
