Mr. Tyrel Minick
veteran

Mr. Tyrel Addison Minick, age 75, died Saturday at East Georgia Regional Medical center. The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Tyrel M. Minick and Minnie Belle Joiner Minick. He was a 1949 graduate of Brooklet High School and a graduate of Industrial Trade School in Atlanta. In 1950 Mr. Minick joined the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War, receiving a Bronze Star. Mr. Minick retired from the armed forces with the rank of 1st Sgt. and returned to Bulloch County. Mr. Minick was employed for several years with Loxcreen Company, the City of Brooklet Police Department, Parker Stockyard and prior to his retirement, the Bulloch County Board of Education from 1976 until 1995. He was a member of the Leefield Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and had served as song director, youth director, Sunday School Director and teacher and Chairman of the Deacons.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Nora Sparks Minick of Brooklet; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lori Minick of Rincon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Henry Jones of Augusta and Nancy and Trey Brisendine of Statesboro and a sister and brother-in-law, Elise and D.B. Lee of Atlanta. Nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Potts and Rev. Robert Black officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
