Mary Baker February 10, 1923- January 16, 2006 Mary Baker, 82, of Baker Rd., Fremont died late Sunday night at home. She was born in Norwalk, Ohio February 10, 1923 to Nicholas and Milka (Torbica) Minich. Her parents were immigrants from Yugoslavia. She graduated from Ross High School in 1941. On December 2, 1944 she married Delbert R. Baker, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1979. She was a homemaker and was meticulous at keeping her house and yard immaculate. She worked with her husband in his business, Fremont Shear Repair. She was also the clerk of Ballville Township from April 2, 1979 until March 31, 1988. She was appointed the position when her husband passed away, and went on to be elected for a term of her own. She is survived by her daughter Barbara A. (Marvin) Davenport, and son Richard W. Baker both of Fremont. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Tanya Davenport of San Diego, CA, Kelly (Jeremy) Knisley of Toledo, Deanna Baker, and Penny Baker both of Clyde, and by three great-grandchildren, Travis, Cesily, and Connor. Mary is survived by her oldest sibling, a sister, Julia Snyder of Fostoria, OH, and her youngest sibling, a brother, Donald Minich of Leominster, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Michael Minich, Peter Minich, and George Minich, and sisters, Helen Ebright and Elizabeth Bruggeman. By her wishes she was cremated, and there will be no services or visitation. Burial will take place at a later date at McGormley Cemetery.
