Margaret J. Hunter of Chestertown died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 95.

Mrs. Hunter was born Aug. 25, 1908 in Church Hill, daughter of the late Thomas Anthony and Margaret Ullman Minch.

She attended school in Church Hill.

Mrs. Hunter was employed most of her life in the Kent County area, retiring from LaMotte Chemical in 1988 at age 80.

She enjoyed needlework and flower gardening.

Mrs. Hunter was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chestertown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Otis "Dick" Hunter, in 1965; five sisters, Pauline Middleton, Georgianna Kimble, Anna C. Massey, Frances Breen and Eva Minch; and two brothers, John Gilbert Minch and Thomas Minch.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Slader Robinson, and Sarah Kirby Watkins, all of Chestertown; two granddaughters, Barbara Hunt of Columbia and Karen Bitter of Chestertown; two great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11am Friday in Sacred Heart Church, Chestertown.

Burial will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Church Hill.
