Maurine M. "Dolly" Amsden, 86, died at her home Tuesday, July 17, 2007.

Maurine was born April 6, 1921 to Wilson and Pearl (Parsley) Mills in Des Moines. She graduated from East High in 1939 and completed several college credits with DMACC and with the Banking Association. Maurine was united in marriage to James P. Amsden in 1941. She was the divisional administrative assistant at Norwest Bank for over 31 years before her retirement in 1986. Maurine was the organist at Visitation Catholic Church for many years. She had traveled world-wide with her husband. She was a Camp Fire leader and a sponsor for "Christian Foundation for Children and Aging". She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the East Side Senior Center and AARP. Maurine enjoyed family, stitching, crafting and music.

Maurine is survived by her daughter, Judith M. Larsen; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Byal, Jon Byal and Stephen Henning and four great-grandchildren, Brendan and Curtis Byal, Amanda Byal and Alexis Henning; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 59 years, James P. Amsden.
