She was born on February 6, 1901, in rural Shelbyville, the daughter of Jesse and Katherine Ellis Miller. She married Keith J. Durst on March 3, 1919. He died on May 13, 1977. Surviving were her son, William K. Durst and wife Helen; granddaughter, Kay Gibson and husband Jim; step-grandchildren, Robert Swiney and wife Margaret and Ann Vaughn and husband Dan; two great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; and 14 step-great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Hilma Ashenfelter and Fern Harbart. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville and an over 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #69 of Shelbyville.
