Barbara Ann Gillmore PETERSBURG, IL - Barbara Ann Gillmore, 69, died at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at St. John's Hospital. She was born on January 23, 1945, the daughter of Walter W. and Catherine M. Wiseman Miller. She married Donald Gillmore on November 29, 1964, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains. Barbara is survived by her husband, Don; two daughters, Angela Kim (husband,Don . Peter Kim) and Kristina Gillmore; seven grandchildren, Justin Wolf, SPC Logan Wolf, Landon Wolf, and Heather Kim, Klayton Burton, Karissa Burton and Kiersten Burton; great-grandson, Kolton Burton; two sisters, Mary (Robert) Wright and Alberta (Dean) Kindhart; two brothers, Gerald and Marcus (Jan); and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Walter Thomas and Richard Wayne. Barbara was a graduate of Tallula High School. She retired from Pleasant Plains School District in 2007 and a former employee of the State of Illinois. She and her husband were owners of Gillmore Grocery in Tallula. Barbara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains where she also served as a secretary and organist for several years; she also played the organ for Tallula Christian Church. She was a member of the Petersburg Woman's Club, and she helped plan the ladies activities for the Menard County Fair for a number of years. Visitation will be held from 4-7 on Sunday, February 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 3, also at Zion Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Petersburg Rural Fire Department or Menard County Food Pantry. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. Hurley Funeral Home of Petersburg is assisting the Gillmore family with arrangements.
