Boone County Democrat November 27, 1913
After a long illness with cancer, Mrs. G.I. Miller passed to her long rest Saturday evening at 7:30 oíclock. A number of times in recent months her condition had been so serious that death was expected almost momentarily, but each time she returned to consciousness and to a fair degree of physical comfort until Saturday night when she breathed her last. Before the end came she was entirely prepared for it even to the selection of the pall bearers, the text, the songs, and the spot in the cemetery in which she would be laid, so that the last arrangements are but the carrying out of her wishes. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 form the late home, 427 Story street, the Rev. George D. Crissman of the first Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. E.W. McDade, of the Atlantic district of the Methodist church and a former Boone Pastor. The body lay in state from the hours of 10:00 until 2:00. A number of relatives were summoned just at the end and are here, including Mrs. Millerís sister in law, Mrs. Clara Bartlett, and Mr. Millerís sister, Mrs. B.D. West, both of Audubon county, and E.H. Bartlett of Weyburn, Canada, a nephew. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCormick, of Des Moines, old friends of Mr. and Mrs. Miler arrived Tuesday.
