Anna Mae Cox, 79, Greenwood, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 15, 2013 in Indianapolis.

She was born July 7, 1933 in Edinburgh, IN to James F. and Lola (Boling) Miller.

She celebrated 50 years of marriage with her husband, Charles C. Cox, prior to his death on June 7, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Steven Cox of Valrico, FL, Tony Cox of Bethlehem, PA; three daughters, Annette Dupont of Indianapolis, Beverly Frye of Greenwood, and Cynthia Davis of Indianapolis; one brother, James Arliss Miller of Groveland, FL; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Lynn Alan; sister, Jeannine (Miller) Waltz; and infant grandson, Brice Davis.

She was a 1951 graduate of Edinburgh High School and a 1984 of Martin University with a Bachelor degree in Communications in June of 1984, where she was on the National Deans List and worked as Registrar and Editor of the Alumni Newsletter.

As an executive board member of TOUCH (These Organizations United Can Help), she compiled and edited the first Information Line Referral Directory of Johnson County in 1985. She also spent time as Deputy Township Assessor for Franklin Township (Johnson County) for 14 years.

Anna Mae was a very artistic and creative woman who owned the public relations firm "Impress" for eight years, and was the Creative Arts instructor at the Greenwood Community Center for six years. She enjoyed spending time as a floral designer and event planner for many special activities.

She loved to share her passion and talent for arts and crafts with everyone. She was a member and on the executive board of the Calligraphy Guild of Indiana since 1984.

Anyone who knew her knew she was passionate about service to her church and community. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood. She had served as President of the American Baptist Womens Ministries, and a member of the Senior Adult Council. She was a former member of the board of directors of Johnson County Baptist Association and American Baptist Churches of USA. She had also served as Clerk of the First Baptist Church of Franklin Church Council for several years. an officer of the Johnson County Church Women United and state officer of the Church Women United of Indiana.

Anna Mae was a proud 50 year member of the Greenwood Order of the Eastern Star, #390, and a long time supporter of the Greenwood Public Library.
She was very involved in leading and supporting her childrens activities during their youth in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl's Club, 4-H, sports and extracurricular activities.

The family would like to thank the staff at Westminister Village Healthcare Center for their loving care during her stay there since October 2011.

Calling will take place from 10AM-1PM, Monday, May 20, at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. Rev. Tom Bridges will officiate a funeral service to follow at 1PM. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
