Geneva L. Miller, 95, rural Thorntown, died at Parkwood Health Care Center, Lebanon, Oct. 5, 2007.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the first graduating class of Dover High School in Boone County in 1931. She and her husband farmed in the rural Thorntown community where she resided until recently entering the nursing home. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed her family, friends, flowers and gardening. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Mrs. Miller was born June 15, 1912, in Clinton County to Clarence and Martha Ellen Boots Shaw. She married Oren Wilson Miller in 1932 in Lebanon, and he died July 9, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, David H. (Karen) of Richardson, Texas, and Jerry L. and Deborah of Crawfordsville; one daughter, Judith E. Dale of Crawfordsville; one sister, Martha Jean Dale of Lebanon; a daughter-in-law, Jane Miller of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three children, John O. and infants Phillip and Bonnie Jean; two brothers, Clarence Shaw Jr. and Robert Shaw; two sisters, Katherine Cross and Mary Belle Shaw, an infant.
