Joyce L. Krahn, 72 years of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 1998 at The Tillers in Oswego, Illinois.
She was born June 14, 1926 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Miller.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, Illinois and the United Methodist Women's and the Kendall County Women's Republican club. For many years she had worked at various locations within the community, The Standard Oil Gas Station in Oswego (when her husband was the owner/operator.) Hines Lumber Co. in Montgomery, Illinois, The Kendall County Sheriff's Department and Hornsby's in Yorkville, Illinois.
She is survived by three sons, Dale (Debra A.) Krahn of Oswego, IL, Tom (Desi) Krahn of Yorkville, IL, Randy (Debra J.) Krahn serving with the U.S. Coast Guard at Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren, Jeannette (Barry) Mingus of Newark, IL, Justin Krahn of Oswego, IL, Michael Pierce of Huntley, IL, Angela Pierce of Oswego, IL, ryan Pierce of Aurora, IL, Angela (Philip) Hart of Fort Meade, Maryland, Zachary Krahn of Yorkville, IL, Nataniel Krahn of Yorkville, IL, Codie Krahn of Burgaw, NC; great-grandchildren, Amber Mingus, Jordan Mingus, Baylan Hart, Brooklyn Hart; sisters, Cleva Reynolds of Sandwich, IL, Violet Bell of Plano, IL, Bety Jane (Wayne) Larson of Yorkville, IL and by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Krahn and a grandson, Eric Krahn at birth.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. in Oswego, IL. with Rev. Fred C. Eisenhut. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in rural Oswego, IL.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to either the Church of Good Shepherd Children's Library Fund or the patient activity fund of the Tillers.
