Services Held For Mrs. John Gregg
Funeral services were held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Saturday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m., for Mrs. John Gregg, who died Wednesday, February 4 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon. She had been hospitalized there since Monday, January 26. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated.
The daughter of Carl and Louise Michael Miller, Bertha Carolyn was born September 28, 1889 in Postville and received her schooling there. She lived her entire life in the Postville community.
September 14, 1911, she was united in marriage to John Gregg in the Luana Lutheran Church. She devoted her life to her family and home. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville and the Order of Eastern Star. Prior to admission to the hospital, she was a resident of the Good Samaritan Home, Waukon.
Preceding her in death were her husband on December 31, 1946; her two sons, Keith and James; four brothers; Henry, William, August, and Louis; two sisters: Mrs. Howard (Augusta) Wykoff and Mrs. C.F. (Amanda) Smith.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Edith) Bellows and Mrs. Wilbert (Anna) Wilke, both of Postville and her two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Keith (Dorothy) Gregg of Storm Lake and Mrs. James (Neva Beth) Gregg of Postville. There are four granddaughters, 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
