She was born on May 31, 1921 in McGregor, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Carolyn (Zahn) Miller.
Helen graduated from McGregor High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Hendrickson on November 11, 1940. Helen worked as a cook at the McGregor Nursing Home from the day it opened until the day she retired. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa. Helen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, fishing, helping with all the various church functions and staying up with current events. Most of all, Helen cared deeply about her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hendrickson; son, Tony Hendrickson, parents, of Harry and Carolyn (Zahn) Miller, two sisters, Margaret Borwiak and Katherine Breckler and two brothers, Donald and Claire Miller.
