Caroline Inge married South Carolina native Strawder V. Flowers (circa 1829-1864) in DeKalb County, Georgia, on December 2, 1847. Their children were (or included:)
* Sarah Penninah Flowers Thompson (1850-1884,)
* John C. Flowers (1851-1872,)
* Charles I. Flowers (circa 1852-1932,)
* Jesse C. Flowers (1854-1926,)
* James Baxter Flowers (1856-1939,)
* Francis Orville Flowers (1860-1946,) and
* Ida (or Ada) M. Flowers (born circa 1863.)

S. V. Flowers enlisted in Company F, Georgia 36th Infantry Regiment on April 10, 1862; Flowers was subsequently promoted for Full 2nd Corporal and then to Full Corporal. In April 1864 Corp. Flowers was captured and taken to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he died of small pox on October 18, 1864.
