Darlene "Joyce" Bauer

Passed away on July 23, 2008 in Spokane after a lengthy illness. She was born in Wilbur, WA on March 31, 1927. She grew up in the Chewelah-Addy area and graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah. After a brief employment at John W. Graham's in Spokane, she moved to Wilbur and was employed by the phone company. In 1947, she married Robert Bauer. They spent most of their life farming on the family farm South of Wilbur. In 1985, they retired and moved to Wilbur. She was an outstanding gardener and loved her family and friends. She was a member of Grand Coulee Rebekah Lodge #315, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and Grand Coulee Auxiliary Eagles Lodge #25771. She is survived by her children: Susan Harms of Spokane (Larry Harms) and Jim Bauer of Wilbur (Debbie) and by three grandchildren: Matthew Schaaf of Spokane (Christine) and Gina and Lisa Bauer of Wilbur. She is also survived by her brother, Don Miller of Harrington. She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Etta Miller, two brothers, Stanley Miller and Dr. Vernon Miller and a sister, Jean Bannon Angstrom. Memorials may be made to the Big Bend Historical Society, Box 523, Wilbur, WA 99185. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 28th, 10 a.m. at the Wilbur Cemetery, Wilbur, WA.
