Leona Hazel Cowan, 82 of Cameron died Monday, February 14, 2005 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Little River Cemetery near Jones Prairie with Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Family visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Mrs. Cowan, a homemaker and retired hairdresser was born September 7, 1922 in Maysfield to Rufus A. and Myrtle (Brooks) Miller. She married her husband Riley V. Cowan in 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1982. Mrs. Cowan volunteered in various activities for more than 15 years. Seven siblings also preceded her in death. Survivors include: Daughter Pat Gartman of Cottage Grove, Oregon Sister Vida Hillin of Fort Worth 3 grandchildren, Lisa, Lara, and Wendy 2 great grandchildren Alex and Amanda
