Services Set For Piketon War Victim
Funeral services for Spec, 4 Charles Eugene Miller, 21, are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Howe Funeral Home in Piketon.
The Pike County soldier was killed in action May 1 in Vietnam.
Miller, who entered the army Dec. 15, 1965, had been in Vietnam for several months.
He was a native of Piketon and was a 1963 graduate of Piketon High School.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Susan Sizemore Miller of Piketon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller of Piketon; two brothers, William Miller of Beaver Rt. 2 and Robert Miller of Fort Knox, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs. Gracie Wireman of South Charleston, Ohio.
Rev. Waid C. Radford is to officiate at service. Interment is to be in Mound Cemetery at Piketon.
Friends may call Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Members of the Odd Fellow Lodge are to conduct services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Vietnam War has claimed the life of a second young serviceman from Piketon in less than three months.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Bill) Miller of Piketon were notified last Wednesday that their son, Specialist Four Charles Eugene Miller, 21, was killed in action May 1.
The young Piketon soldier was killed by a land mine while on patrol somewhere in the northern sector of South Vietnam.
Clarence Rickards, 20, like Miller, was a graduate of Piketon High School, was killed February 26.
Mr. Miller, former Piketon Marshall, stated another son, Robert L., was inducted into the Army Tuesday and now is a Fort Knox, Ky.
Spec. Miller's widow, the former Susan Sizemore, is expecting the couples first child in a month. She resides with the elder Millers.
Charles was graduated from Piketon High School in 1963 and worked at the Westinghouse plant, Columbus, before being drafted Dec. 15, 1965. He had been in Vietnam since October 1966, and served in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
the young Piketon soldier entered the service at Fort Knox and completed his basic training at Fort Lewis, Wash.
He was an active member of the Piketon IOOF Lodge No. 323.
Born Dec. 5, 1945, Miller had lived most of his life in Piketon. He was married to Miss Sizemore July 10, 1966.
