Mrs. Davis Rites
Sunday at 2 P.M.
ELKTON. Sept. 11—Funeral services for Mrs. Josie V. Davis, wife of Lawrence E. Davis, will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Elkton Methodist Church with Dr. R. B. Proctor officiating. Burial will be in Elk Run cemetery. The body will be removed to the residence from the Brill Funeral home Saturday afternoon at four o'clock and will be placed in the church to lie in state at one o'clock Sunday.
The pallbearers will be: Jennings, Paul, Watkins, Dennis, Billy and Verlin Miller, nephews. Mrs. Davis who died Thursday night, was born in Elkton on June 8, 1881, being a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Miller. She went to Baltimore at the age of 18 and lived there until she returned to Elkton in 1923.
Mrs. Davis was loved by a wide circle of friends. She was a woman of high Christian ideals and very aciive in the Elkton Methodist church. She was the teacher of the H. B. C. Gentry Bible class for 16 years.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband: one sister, Mrs. John Apperson, of Elkton; two brothers,John and Lawrence Miller, of Elkton: and a number of nieces and nephews.
