The men of Company F called themselves "KK's Protectors" in honor of the 15th's first Lieutenant Colonel, Kiler K. Jones.
On 1/21/1862 he mustered into "F" Co. WI 15th Infantry;
He was Mustered Out on 1/13/1865.
Private Mikkelsen was mustered out of Federal service with an honorable discharge along with most of the rest of Company F on January 13, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the expiration of his 3 year term of service.;
Born Ingebrigt Madson on May 4, 1837, Botnen under Hillestad, Hafslo, Sogn, Kingdom of Norway. Died June 12, 1883, Albert Lea Township, Freeborn County, State of Minnesota. Married November 28, 1868, to Mary Ingebrigtson (Brickson).
