He graduated from Liberty High School in 1944 and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served in the Philippines during World War II. In 1969, Chris attended Temple University and received his teaching certificate.
In 1987, Chris retired from Bethlehem Area VO-TECH, where he taught food service for 17 years. Prior to that he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company in the Restaurant Department, and earlier in his father's Linden Grille/Restaurant, and later at the Linden Hotel.
Chris was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem. He was a member of the Senior Citizens of the Church and volunteered over the years at the church for the Philoptochos, YAL, food festival and New Year's Eve Celebrations. Over the years, Chris catered bar work at Lehigh University, Lafayette College, Moravian College, DeSales University, banks, businesses, as well as prominent individuals and families in the Lehigh Valley. He volunteered over 3500 hours at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem for many years. Chris was always willing to help whether it was his family, his students, his church or volunteering in his community.
Survivors: Sister Katherine M. Marinos, wife of Elias E. of Bethlehem, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother John and a sister Mary.
Services: Funeral Service on Thursday August 13, 2015 at 12 noon in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 West Union Blvd. Bethlehem. There will be a viewing from 11 AM to 12 noon in the Church. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Funeral arrangements are by the John F. Herron Funeral Home in Bethlehem.
