Elsa Mickle Carsner born June 18th, 1936 in Knox City, Texas to Florence and Jack Mickle. She graduated from Temple High School in 1954, received a B.A. in Education from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1958, and later returned to school to earn a Masters of Theater Arts from Angelo State University. After graduating college and marrying, she taught first and fifth grade in Texas City, Texas. She later settled in San Angelo with her family. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church, the Junior League of San Angelo, the Arts at ASU, and Fort Concho. She also enjoyed involvement with the San Angelo Art Museum and the San Angelo Symphony. Her true passion was her family and she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by husband Dr. Robert Carsner, daughter Beth Elder and husband Jim of Dallas, Texas, sons Jack and wife Jennifer Carsner, Clay and wife Bess Carsner of Austin, Texas. She was a beloved 'Lovey' to her grandchildren Jake, Adele, Ellen, Benjamin, Robin, Lucy, Samuel, and Lily. She will be missed terribly by her family and many dear friends.
Services are to be held at First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider a donation to First Presbyterian Church in her name. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
