Cecile (Lizotte) Michelin, 97, of Merrimac, died Monday, January 16, at the Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport after a period of declining health.
Born in Amesbury, October 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late, Ludger and Marie (Pelletier) Lizotte.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, great great great grandmother, sister and aunt, her life revolved around her family. She was a homemaker; and her door was open to all. She was a tremendous cook as French and Polish cuisines were her specialties.
The widow of Joseph F. Michelin Sr, who died in 1965, she leaves three daughters, Josephine Patricia Sanborn, of Merrimac, Sheila Michelin, also of Merrimac, and Teresa Sheehan and her husband, Paul, of Hampton, NH, grandchildren, Cynthia Hume, Todd Sheehan, Patty Ann Michelin, Linda Souther and her husband Tom, Diana Benson, and her husband Edward, James, John, and Joseph Michelin III, Nancy Dow and her husband, Russell, a sister, Lillian L. McKinney, of Newburyport, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph F. Michelin Jr, a daughter Christine, her siblings, Joseph, Peter, and Armand Lizotte, and Marie Jean Jacobs, and grandchildren, Karen Greaney, Kathy, Wayne, Jack, Alice and Jean.
The family of Mrs. Michelin would like to thank all from the Home Health V.N.A. and Merrimac Valley Hospice for their kindness and caring support throughout this time of her life.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 20, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac.
