A South Side woman and her daughter were injured early today when struck by an auto at South 18th and Carson Sts. They were taken to South Side Hospital.
Mrs. Bella Michalski, 63, 57 South 14th Street, was cut on the left arm and leg and was detained at the hospital, where her daughter Mrs. Leona Haas, 37, same address, was treated for bruises.
Detectives Martin Corcoran and George Purvis said Mrs Michalski and Mrs Haas were crossing 18th Street when struck by an auto driven by Charles Taylor, 19, who was turning from Carson Street. It was raining at the time and Taylor said, he was unaware of the accident until he heard screams.
