I have not been able to find anything on Della's death. I do know that she died between 1954 and 1963. I did find the following article about her in The Altoona Mirror. There is also a photo of her. If anyone has any information on her death and interment please let me know.

Delia Michaels Is Winning In Battle Against Handicap
This is the success story of a tiny brown-eyed girl who comes each week to the Busier Seal society's treatment center. Della Michaels, 5, is probably unaware of all the sunshine she spreads around each day, but workers at the treatment center find Della's visits are always a bright spot in their day.
Delia is a victim of cerebral palsy. Apparently she has had the affliction since birth. Just about a year ago Delia was filled for her first braces. Until that time she hadn't walked alone at all. Her pride in her new ability was very touching, indeed, and everyone shared Delia's happiness that she could now walk.
As the months slipped by, Delia's improvement became so marked that the physical therapist had her use only one brace. Then when she was seen by Dr. Burton Chance, the society's celebral palsy consultant, in January of this year, he discontinued her braces during the day, and had her wear them only at night. Needless to say, this was happy news, indeed.
In September, 1953, Delia was enrolled in the speech therapy program of the society since her speech, too, was involved from her handicap. Each Wednesday she comes, with her book under her arm so she can "read" the therapist a story. To hear Delia read "Little Black Sambo" is really an experience. Special recordings were made of Delia's speech so that there will he a permanent record of her improvement.
If you are wondering just how Delia has been given these wonderful opportunities, all the society's friends and neighbors in Blair county are responsible for supporting so well each year the annual Sale of Easter seals. The society hopes when you read this story that you too have recently received seals in the mail and that your contribution will help Delia and more than 120 other children just like her to live a happier, more normal life.
