It is with sorrow that the announcement of her death come on October 14th, 2010, at the age of 91. Much like an angel in disguise, she was adored by many and loved by all. She was known as an honest and straight-forward person who loved willingly those around her. Aggie was a hard worker until the day she died. Up until a couple of weeks ago she was still folding towels.
Aggie also enjoyed assisting her belated husband, John Meyers Sr., in serving the communities of La Veta and San Luis through Meyers Mortuary. She spent he spare time sewing and catering to the needs of her family. Her services extended from work and community to eating the cookies of an Oreo after her great-great grandchildren ate the cream. Embracing her family with a maternal instinct unquestioned by all who knew her, Aggie was awarded a well-deserved "Mother of the Year" award. Aggie had the blessing of living through five generations of family.
A recitation of the Rosary service will be held Oct. 18th at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday Oct 19th at 10 a.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. There will be a dinner on Tuesday following services. Committal services will be held in the Alamosa Cemetery. Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements.
