She was born March 19, 1931, in Rapid City, S.D., to George and Ruth Meyers. The family moved to Arvada when she was a child. She was married to Howard DeGabain on Oct. 10, 1952, in Denver. They moved to Loveland in 1968.
After graduating in 1953 from Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, she was a caseworker for the Larimer County Department of Social Services. She went on to receive a master's degree in social work in 1962 from the University of Denver. She then worked as field supervisor of eight northwestern counties for the Colorado State Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1986.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, travel, books, golf, fishing and her ranch in Red Feather.
She is survived by her husband, Howard of Loveland; three daughters, Kathy and husband, Doug Harris, of Moscow, Russia, Debby and husband, Steve Hepler, of Loveland, and Sandy and husband, Jack Jennings, of Fort Collins; four grandchildren, Brenton Harris of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Emily Jennings of Fort Collins, Mathew Hepler of Loveland, and Jennifer and husband, David Dolak, of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one sister, Norma Bingel of Greeley; and three brothers, George "Buck" Meyers of Dallas, Texas, Donald Meyers of Roseberg, Ore., and Richard Meyers of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
